The 14th of April 1945 finds the Regiment in territory that will become a future home for elements of the Second Cavalry. The 42nd Squadron race to cut off German columns fleeing from the 11th Armored through Bayreuth. Screening by A and B Troop nets 444 POW's. C Troop enters Bayreuth the next day with 71st Division and nets another 580 prisoners. (click picture to enlarge)
